Incogniton is an antidetect browser that gives each profile its own fingerprint, cookies and IP, so accounts you operate cannot be linked through a shared connection. Incogniton proxy setup with a ProxyHive IP: open the profile's Proxy tab, choose Custom proxy, set the connection type to SOCKS5, paste HOST:PORT:USERNAME:PASSWORD into the ip:port field, click Check, then Save. Launch the profile and https://api.ipify.org shows the IP you bought.

What this is for

This guide is about managing your own accounts: shops, ad accounts or client accounts you operate, each with a stable identity. Our allowed-use policy permits several accounts where the platform itself allows them. Social platform automation is allowed for accounts you own and for public data collection; mass account creation and engagement farming are not. Free, bought or your own: which proxy option

Incogniton's Proxy tab offers several routes: free shared proxies, proxies bought through its shop, proxies saved in its Proxy Library, and a Custom proxy you type in. Its documentation is candid that the free proxies are shared, may change IP between sessions and are not suited to account management. Buying in the app is convenient if you want one vendor. This guide covers bringing your own dedicated IP, where you choose the carrier and location yourself.

Before you start

  1. Buy one static IP per profile and open the order in the dashboard at https://app.proxyhive.io. ISP proxies suit this best: a single IP from $3.20/IP, registered to a consumer carrier you pick by name, with country, region, city and carrier chosen at checkout.
  2. Copy HOST, PORT, USERNAME and PASSWORD. Each IP is its own endpoint, and the order lists HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5 ports separately. Use the SOCKS5 port for Incogniton.
  3. Prefer username and password. Incogniton's docs describe its servers looking up IP data for the proxy to fill in the profile, and an IP allowlist only admits the networks you list. Proxy authentication vs IP allowlist covers the trade-off.

Incogniton proxy setup for one profile

  1. Click Create profile on the dashboard (or open an existing profile).
  2. Enter a name. Keep Fill language based on IP switched on so the browser language follows the proxy's country.
  3. Open the Proxy tab and choose Custom proxy.
  4. Set the connection type. Incogniton's form for your own proxies lists HTTPS and SOCKS5; choose SOCKS5.
  5. Paste HOST:PORT:USERNAME:PASSWORD into the ip:port field. Incogniton splits it into the address, username and password fields. Or type them one by one, keeping the port in ip:port form.
  6. Click Check. A green tick means the proxy works; a red cross means it did not connect.
  7. Click Save.

Let timezone, WebRTC and location follow the IP

Incogniton fills three fingerprint values from the proxy's IP when you let it:

  • Browser & Navigator: keep Fill timezone based on IP on.
  • Privacy & Network: set WebRTC to Altered with Fill WebRTC public IP based on the IP on. Real would report your own IP.
  • Privacy & Network: set Geolocation to Allow with Fill location based on IP on, as Incogniton recommends.

Leave Enable custom DNS off unless you have a reason.

Verify the exit IP

  1. Click Launch on the profile.
  2. Visit https://api.ipify.org?format=json in its window.
  3. The ip value should be the address on your order, and different for each profile.

Several IPs: the Proxy Library and bulk add

For more than a few profiles, store the IPs in the Proxy Library first:

  1. Open Proxy Library from the left menu and click + New proxy.
  2. Click Bulk add at the bottom left.
  3. Paste one IP per line in ip:port:username:password form, or use Load from file with a CSV in the same format:

  1. Pick a Group if you use them, then click Add.

In each profile, go to the Proxy tab, choose the Proxy Library option and click Select from Proxy Library. Leave Rotating proxy off: a static IP has no rotation URL. The documented bulk format has no protocol field, so open one imported entry and confirm its connection type is SOCKS5 before you assign it. If it is not, add the IPs one at a time with + New proxy, where you set the type yourself.

The rule that keeps accounts apart: one static IP per profile, kept for the life of the account. What an ISP proxy is explains why a carrier-registered address reads as a home connection.

Troubleshooting

  • Red cross, profile will not launch. Check the connection type matches the port (SOCKS5 port with SOCKS5), the port is included, and the credentials are right.
  • Red lightning bolt next to a green tick. Incogniton flags a slow proxy this way; it connected. Test from a terminal to compare.
  • Wrong location shown. In the proxy form, the Proxy provider dropdown picks the geo database; switch from Main provider to Backup provider and check again.
  • Proxy works in a normal browser, fails in Incogniton. Incogniton could not fetch the IP's data. Turn off the three "Fill ... based on IP" switches and set timezone, WebRTC IP and location by hand to match the IP.
